Community Policing Forum
The Community Policing Forum provides an opportunity for community members and Laramie Police Department personnel to meet together in a collaborative process toward implementation of the Community Policing Strategic Plan. The Forum includes members who represent and interact with a cross-section of the community. The Forum is a joint problem solving group of citizens and police personnel. It provides an opportunity to exchange ideas and information to build and maintain a communication link between users and providers of police services. The scope of Forum work includes to:
- Serve as a communication link between groups and agencies and Police.
- Assist in setting community priorities for community policing. Review policies to support, assess effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement.
- Serve as a sounding board for Chief and Management for policy direction.
- Be knowledgeable of Budget procedures and funding sources.
- Assist in educating the public about community policing.
- Bring forth and discuss community concerns about law enforcement in Laramie.
- Serve as an advocate for the Department, promote a philosophy of continuous quality improvement and customer service.
- Help host and participate in public informational meetings.
- The Community Policing Forum is one component in the public involvement efforts of the Laramie Police Department and our philosophy of Community Policing.
