Court Appointed Attorney
If you have been charged with a jailable offense, such as:

  • Driving While Under the Influence (10.24.010)
  • Driving While License Cancelled or Suspended (10.28.250)
  • Failure to Maintain Liability Insurance (10.20.190)

and you cannot afford to hire your an attorney on your own, you may request the Court appoint an attorney for you at a reduced rate by filing out an Affidavit of Indigency form and presenting it to the Judge during arraignments.

The Municipal Judge will determine if you are eligible for a court appointed attorney based on your income and financial situation.

Counsel is appointed at random from a pool of local attorneys and no specific attorney can be appointed by request.

A court appointed attorney will perform all of the same services as an attorney that you retain on your own, as they relate to your charge in the Laramie Municipal Court.
