Mosquito Control
Currently the risk of West Nile virus infection is Level 1, Low Risk. Currently 49 pools of vector mosquitoes and three American Crows have been tested for WNv. One mosquito pool and  two American Crows have tested positive for WNv in the City surveillance program. A Third bird tested by the Wyoming State Veterinary Lab was also positive for WNv. 

Fogging in Residential areas has been temporarily suspended due to low counts of vector mosquitoes in surveillance traps. Targeted fogging in rural and Parks and Recreation areas will continue on an as needed basis. 

Mosquito control will also be applying biological larvicide to control larval mosquitoes in wetlands and irrigated areas in and around Laramie. These applications will continue throughout the summer season.   

IPM plans no applications this weekend. For Monday, August 29th, IPM plans to apply Produce non-selective herbicide to Depot Park and the Greenbelt Pathway. Additionally, IPM plans to apply Speedzone broadleaf herbicide to Cowboy Baseball Field and Greenhill Cemetery. 

Also, Monday, August 29th through Wednesday, August 31st, Weed and Pest plans to apply Transline and Telar herbicides to control broadleaf weeds on the Greenbelt Loop. 

Applications will begin at 6:00 am.

All applications are on a weather permitting basis.
