The Laramie Community Recreation Center offers a variety of aquatic activities and programs for people of all ages. With three pools to choose from - an indoor leisure pool with play features and waterslide, an outdoor leisure pool with play features and waterslide, and an eight-lane lap pool - the center provides everything from open swim, tot swim, and lap swim. American Red Cross swim lessons and safety classes are offered on a regular basis, along with therapy swim and water aerobics.

General Pool Hours:

***NEW HOURS EFFECTIVE JUNE 5, 2023!***

School is out and we're expanding our schedule to accommodate more mid-day lap swim and Sunday! Please check out our currently weekly pool schedule here to determine the appropriate activity that the people in your party will want to be doing in the pools! 

Capacity limits are in place based on staffing levels. Reservations are no longer needed.

The 8 Lane Pool is currently only available for lap swim, Swim Lessons, and Rec Swim! Please refer to the daily schedule for each of these activities dates and times, as they vary day to day.  

  • Monday, Wednesday, Friday 5:30am-1:00pm; 5:00pm-7:30pm
  • Tuesday, Thursday 5:30am-10:00am; 5:00pm-7:30pm
  • Saturday 7:30-5:30pm Diving board opens at 12:00pm
  • Sunday CLOSED

The Indoor Leisure Pool is currently only available for Water Aerobics, Therapy Activities, Tot Swim, Swim Lessons, Open Swim and Rec Swim! Please refer to the weekly schedule for each of these activities dates and times, as they vary day to day. The pool will be closed to other activities and outside swimmers during classes and lessons. Please refer to the schedule for when these are taking place.

The Outdoor Leisure Pool will open on Monday, June 5th weather depending.

  • Sunday 2:30pm-5:30pm
    • Waterslide is open 3:00pm-5:00pm weather depending

Hot Tub, Steam Room and Dry Sauna are open any time the Indoor Leisure Pool is open.

Please make sure that you select a time to visit that matches the activity you and your party will want to be doing in the pool with the scheduled program for the pool! 

Therapy Swim A low-key opportunity open to all ages, for water walkers, those with mobility issues or need some extra space and time to get in the pool. Use of noodles, bar bells, and other equipment is available. Water toys and the Play Structure are only turned on by request.

Water Aerobics is a shallow water aerobics class that provides a great low-impact work out, stretches and exercises. No experience needed! Work out equipment provided, just need to provide your own swim attire! Class size is limited.

Lap Swim The 8 Lane pool is open for lap swim activities, the number of lanes available vary on other activities also using the pool at the same time. A variety of aquatic equipment is available to swimmers, including kick boards, pull buoys and fins. Diving board and Starting Blocks are not available for use. Lane sharing and circle swimming are strongly encouraged.

Tot Swim is designed specifically for our youngest guests! It is a time for families with children ages 6 years and under in the Indoor Leisure Pool only. A variety of play features on the Play Structure and toys may be available by request. A parent/guardian (18+) is required to always be in the water and within arm's reach of their child. 

Open Swim is an unstructured swim time for all ages, for use of the lap lanes, lazy river and main indoor leisure pool area. Patrons may bring their own approved pool toys (no inflatables); the availability of the spraying features on the play structure will be limited by request only. 

Rec Swim We pull out all the splashing fun activities that we can! The indoor and/or outdoor leisure pool and the 8 lane pool is open, the spraying features are turned on, and the waterslide and/or the diving board are open depending on staffing levels. All pool rules, policies and regulations apply.

Aquatics Policies 

The Aquatics Division puts the safety of you and your children first. Please help us maintain a fun and safe environment by abiding by the following rules when utilizing our Aquatics areas.

  • Age restrictions
    • Children 5 and under must be accompanied by an adult in the water & within arm’s reach at all times.
    • Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult in the water, actively supervising at all times.
    • Children 8 to 12 years must be directly supervised by an adult in the pool area.
    • Guardian must be 18 years of age
  • General information
    • No food, drink, or gum in pool facilities.
    • Glass containers and alcohol are not permitted at any time.
    • Inflatables are prohibited.
    • Anyone entering the pool must wear a swimsuit (no denim or cutoffs permitted).
    • All patrons must shower before entering the water.
    • Children under 3 or who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper or a diaper and snug plastic pants.
    • All diaper changing must be done in the family locker room.
    • Noodles and small toys are permitted in the indoor Leisure pool.
    • An aquatic wheel chair and aquatic lift are available for use; please ask the Aquatics Staff for assistance if needed.
  • Play features
    • Patrons must be 48" tall to use the large water slides. Aquatic staff will measure all riders and provide wristbands to those that meet the minimum height requirement.
    • All riders must enter the water feet first.
    • Walking up the slide is prohibited.
    • Lifejackets, face masks, goggles, and other hard objects (buckles, zippers, etc.) are not allowed on the waterslides.
  • Whirlpool, Steam and Sauna Use
    • Users must be at least 16 years old.
    • Use is limited to 15 cumulative minutes. Please allow your body time to cool down between features.
  • 8 lane pool
    • All youth swimmers must pass a 25 yard swim, and 2 minute water tread test to utilize the 8 lane pool.
    • Do not go under or over ropes separating pool areas at any time.
    • Lanes separated by lane lines are for lap swim only.
    • Kick boards are to be used by lap swimmers only.
  • Diving Board Use
    • No specialty dives.
    • Forward dives only.
    • No Lifejackets on diving board.
    • No other swimmers should be in the Diving well area when the board is in use.
