Citizen surveys are a tool used to gather input from residents on a wide variety of topics of interest in the community. Information gathered in surveys assist with delivery of services, improved communications, strategic planning, and budget development.
The City of Laramie, working with the Wyoming Survey and Analysis Center (WYSAC), conducted citizen surveys in 2006, 2008, 2012, and 2015. WYSAC provides technical analysis of the survey results and presents information to the City Council. Generally, questions asked in the surveys remain the same to ensure consistency of information collected to develop useful trend lines for City Council planning, decision making, and budget priorities. In each survey, two or three questions relate to a current issue and provides information for topics of relevance at that time.
