Little Kickers Soccer
This is an introductory soccer program designed to help players develop a love of the game along with some fundamental skills. Offered in the spring at local parks, the program utilizes parent-coaches and welcomes volunteers. You can register at the Recreation Center or online.
We are continuously monitoring the COVID-19 situation, and anticipate we may need to make some changes to our programming and schedules. Anyone who is registered for this program will receive direct email communication updates as needed.
This season, we will be using the Start Smart soccer program to teach skills to our youngest players! Each parent will work as a team with their child to learn and develop skills such as shooting, passing, and dribbling. Parks and Recreation staff will lead the sessions and demonstrate the games, then parent/child teams will practice in their individual training area. Face masks will be required when we work closely in a large group, they are optional when you break out into individual groups. Players will receive a bag with cones, ball, t-shirt and a face mask, parents will get a guide to help them work with their child. All of these items are yours to bring to each session and keep when the program ends. There may be an opportunity to have some small sided games at the end of the program.
Register until June 7.
Practice/Game location: Washington Park, east end (near the baseball backstop)
An email will be sent to all participants with season information and details around June 11.
Ages 3/4 will start Tuesday June 16 from 5-5:45 pm. They will continue with regular practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 23.
Ages 5/6 will start Tuesday June 16 from 5:45-6:30 pm. They will continue with regular practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays through July 23.
