Laramie Featured as a Top Retirement Destination

WTR ND16 cover.jpg

Laramie has been selected as a top retirement destination by Where to Retire, America’s magazine geared toward helping people with retirement relocation decisions. Laramie is profiled in a feature titled “7 Low-Cost Cities” in the November/December 2016 issue, available nationwide.
The annual low-cost cities featured are for those who want their financial accounts integrity retained, and with no compromise in their lifestyle. Across the country many towns and cities have qualities and amenities that appeal to retirees, but cost of living is a primary relocation factor. These seven cities, including Laramie, keep retirees busy with cultural events, varied shopping and dining experiences, and outdoor adventure, without a heavy cost-of-living burden. The cities are: Bullhead City, AZ; Cleveland, TN; Idaho Falls, ID; Laramie, WY; Lynchburg, VA; Myrtle Beach, SC; and Palm Coast, FL.
Each year, 700,000 Americans relocate to new towns to retire. Relocating retirees are generally healthier, better educated, and more affluent than those who do not relocate. They also bring significant economic benefits to their new states and hometowns.
Where to Retire magazine has a national circulation of 200,000 and is sold on newsstands across the nation, and at Barnes & Noble bookstores. For a subscription or to purchase a back issue, visit Please acquire reproduction permission from the magazine prior to any duplication.
