Laramie River Greenbelt – Partial Closure

Greenbelt Section Closed

Laramie River Greenbelt – Partial Closure

Laramie, Wyoming - City of Laramie Parks & Recreation Department regrets to announce the closure of a section of the Laramie River Greenbelt trail due to potential hazards which could be encountered. High water levels and ice formation along the Laramie River has created unsafe conditions on the Laramie River Greenbelt around and under the Snowy Range Road bridge.  Crews have placed barricades warning users of the danger.  River levels will be monitored and the closure will be lifted when crews can ensure that the area is safe for travel.

Crossing Snowy Range Road to avoid this trail section is dangerous and should not be attempted due to steep grades, high vehicle speeds and construction in the area. Greenbelt users are reminded that the Wyoming Territorial Prison Park property requires an annual fee for access and trespassing to avoid high water areas is not permitted at this time.

For further information please contact Scott Hunter, Parks Crew Supervisor at 721-5257, shunter@cityoflaramie.org or Keith Wardlaw, Mosquito Control Supervisor at 721-5258, kwardlaw@cityoflaramie.org.
