We have scheduled the 2018 Community Cleanup Day for May 5th (in case of inclement weather, it will be May 19th).
For those not familiar with this event, this is a day that citizens get together to clean up all the windblown trash that accumulates after a long winter. We will set up at City hall from 7:30 Am until 9:00 AM to give out trash bags and safety vests to volunteers (and to guide some to areas that need cleaned but have not been covered). We have lunch for volunteers from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM behind Fire Station #1 on 4th Street between Grand and Ivinson.
A big change from previous years is that there is no longer a “Free Dump Day” as we all know it. The Solid Waste Division will issue vouchers at their office at 1167 North 4th Street to bring to the landfill for their “Free Dump Day” beginning April 1st through June 14th that may be used from May 14th through June 16th . This will give people who may have scheduling conflicts the opportunity to choose their own “Free Dump Day.” For more information, please call the Solid Waste Division at 721-5279 or visit them at 1167 North 4th Street.
The other change from is that there will be no trash trucks or dumpsters placed around town, as we had in previous years.
For those that wish to sign up to clean a specific area, please call the Laramie Chamber Business Alliance at 745-7339.
For more information or to arrange for safety vests and trash bags in advance, call 721-5285.
If you would like to volunteer, we need people from 7:30 until 9:00 AM to give out trash bags and safety vests and we need people from about 10:30 AM until 1:00 Pm to help set up and serve lunch.
