Compost Program Information
Program Overview
The City of Laramie began the Compost Program in July 2009 to help divert greewaste from the Landfill. Over 5 million pounds of compost per year is sold or given away to the public. The program is utilizing both green waste that has been diverted from the landfill and biosolids produced from the Laramie Wastewater Treatment Plant.

Fees
Purchase compost for $25 per ton with a $1.00 minimum at the Laramie Landfill year round Monday-Saturday. No Minimum amount, You can get a truck load or a handful.

The City offers free loading for trailers and 1 ton trucks or larger every Saturday in the month of May from 8:00am-4:30pm and every Wednesday from 8:00am-noon year round. Other days and times are dependent on staff availability. A release of liability will need to be filled out by the owner of the vehicle prior to loading.

This compost is Class A, Exceptional Quality grade and is great for any growing application including your home vegetable garden and flower beds. Just mix it in with your existing soil and start growing.
