Public Meeting For South 1st Street Improvements

City Press Releases Posted on May 07, 2025

LARAMIE, WY – The City of Laramie is inviting residents, business owners, and community members to help shape the future of South 1st Street and the Depot Park area through a public outreach initiative that begins May 15. The effort focuses on improving parking, accessibility, and storm drainage in one of Downtown Laramie’s most active and historic areas.

A public Neighborhood Meeting will be held on Thursday, May 15, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and again from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Historic Railroad Depot (600 1st Street). This meeting is an opportunity for the community to learn more about the project, view early design concepts, and provide feedback.

In tandem with the meeting, the City will launch an online survey on May 15, accessible at http://bit.ly/4iE5LPP, offering a convenient way for those unable to attend in person to share their input.

“This area is the heart of so many key events like Jubilee Days, the Farmer’s Market, and Brewfest,” said Assistant City Manager Todd Feezer. “We’re working to ensure that future improvements reflect the needs and values of the community.”

The project, led by the City of Laramie in collaboration with WWC Engineering and Norris Design, is currently in the conceptual design phase. Feedback gathered will inform a preferred plan to enhance infrastructure while maintaining the character of the Historic Laramie Depot and surrounding spaces.

For more information or to schedule a meeting outside of the designated event times, community members are encouraged to contact Todd Feezer at tfeezer@cityoflaramie.org.
