City of Laramie Launches SeeMyLegacy for Community Engagement and Fundraising

Laramie, WY – 3/4/2025 – The City of Laramie Parks, Recreation, and Public Services Department is excited to announce a new partnership with SeeMyLegacy, a community engagement and fundraising platform designed to support local initiatives and enhance resident participation. Through this platform, Laramie will launch a variety of impactful campaigns, making it easier than ever for residents, businesses, and organizations to contribute to the city’s growth and cultural vibrancy.

SeeMyLegacy will serve as a central hub for community giving, allowing residents to support projects that matter most to them. With many more campaigns and programs coming soon, the platform will initially kick off with three exciting initiatives:

Freedom Has a Birthday Sponsorship – Businesses, families, and individuals can sponsor this all-day FREE family-friendly 4th of July event that brings together thousands of residents and visitors. There are many sponsorship options available, and your sponsorship is key to helping bring a long-standing, engaging, and enriching experience to Laramie.

Adopt-A-Trail on the Greenbelt – Businesses, organizations, and community members will have the opportunity to sponsor a section of the beautiful Greenbelt Trail, in sections from ¼ of a mile up to a full mile. In addition to a 5”X7” sign recognizing your sponsorship along the trail, you will be able to tell a much more immersive story with our Story Tags, which are QR Codes that are fully customizable to your message. Promote your business or organization, or simply tell your family’s story in a more complete way with videos, photos, and more.

Memorial Bench Program – If you are looking for a lasting way to honor an individual, event, or organization, this is a new way to memorialize by creating a virtual story using an embedded QR Code. In addition to text on your memorial bench plaque, the plaque will include a fully customizable QR Code that can create a much more immersive memorial with stories, quotes, photos, videos, and more.

“Laramie is a city built on community spirit and pride, and with SeeMyLegacy, we are making it easier and more interactive than ever for our residents and businesses to be involved,” said Michael Bork, the Parks, Recreation, and Public Services Director. “Whether you want to sponsor an event, support a city program, or honor a loved one, this platform provides a seamless way to make a meaningful impact.”

The SeeMyLegacy platform simplifies community participation by offering an easy-to-use online experience. Residents can explore campaigns, make contributions, and even share their involvement with friends and family.
